Google Ads not working? Google Ads may not be the problem

A campaign produces results only when search, ad, landing page and lead handling work together.

01

The click is not the result

Paying to bring someone to a website does not mean acquiring a customer. The result may be a call, a form, an appointment, an order or another valuable action. The first question should therefore be not “how many clicks did we get?” but “which commercial actions did we generate and at what cost?”. Google identifies conversion tracking as the way to understand which ads lead to valuable actions.

02

Search intent matters more than volume

A high-volume keyword may attract curious users, students, competitors or people far from buying. An effective campaign distinguishes informational searches from those expressing a concrete need, uses match types and negative keywords carefully, and connects each ad group to a specific offer.

03

The landing page is part of the campaign

If the page is slow, generic or fails to keep the ad’s promise, budget is wasted after the click. Headline, proof, benefit, call to action and form must match the search. The number of fields and the quality of the subsequent response also matter: an enquiry that receives no follow-up is not a commercial conversion.

04

Measure to decide, not to fill reports

Track genuinely important actions, assign different values to contacts and distinguish qualified leads from weak enquiries. Data must then flow back into the campaign: search terms, ads, devices, locations and pages should be optimised according to what creates opportunities—not merely traffic.
